DJ Sliink slays 'em with Kanye's Blood On The Leaves Remix

I haven't hit the download button that hard in a long time.  Kanye West released Yeezus over the summer setting a new standard for experimental hip-hop with artists like Hudson Mohawke & THE Daft Punk producing a majority of the album.

One that stood out was Blood On The Leaves produced by Hudson Mohawke, half of trap super group TNGHT.  The sample, the horns, the everything just made an amazing track.

Then everyone started remixing joints like New Slaves and Black Skinhead.  Notable remixes are Brenmar's New Slaves Club Edit, DJ Snake's New Slaves Remix, and Alex Young & Royal's Remix of Black Skinhead.

And in the last 24 hours, #JerseyClubKing DJ Sliink released a massive Jersey Club Remix of Blood On The Leaves.  Although the original is in and of itself an amazing track, DJ Sliink did his thing, and damn, did he do it right.  Check it out here:

Cashmere Cat does, I think. I don't particularly.

So there's this singer called Miguel.  You've probably heard of him.  Quickie.  Sure Thing. Adorn? Okay, you get the picture.

So there's this song called Do You... and its pretty awesome.  A nice acoustic Miguel joint.

Cashmere Cat then decided to make one of the illest remixes in the game right now.  Normally I'm like eh, this remix is pretty good.  Naw, screw that noise.  Flosstradamus was like "ay, do y'all like drugs?" and I was like HYFR I DO!  You gotta listen to this song just to understand what I mean.

And as always, Enjoy!

Innovation: Edgewoode, Kennedy Jones & Soul Define

I don't mean to diss the trap game.  Trust me, I'm a fan.  Flosstradamus had me sweatin' through my jeans.

But, originality is lacking.  With the multiple collaborations, duos, and vast inspiration from multitudes of artists, I find it odd that after awhile it all starts to blend.  Even for me.  That's when these gems start to shine bright like diamonds (okay, I'll stop now).

That all being said, today I was impressed with these new songs that stepped way out of the norm.  First, Edgewood, Mayhem's side project (as I understand).  Treasure Fingers, the original artist, released Cloudlife to the masses as this funky house smooth groove.  Check him out for the original.  But this remix is something else. Simply put, funky glitch-hop with trap elements.  I really don't know how else to describe it. Jungle sounds, funky bass, hi-hats.  Just listen.

Then I came across this wonderful gem.  Kennedy Jones and Soul Define collab on the smooth lounge grind.  Enter the sax and the soothing female vocals.  Next it caught me off guard, cuz I coulda swore Atmosphere jumped on the track.  Soul Define.  Killin' everything.

Gotta love it when amazing tracks are free, and as always, Enjoy!
